Ovie Fortune Efemena, MPH (Health Equity)
Ovie Fortune Efemena is a Public Health Nurse and humanitarian with over nine years of service dedicated to promoting health equity among vulnerable populations. He founded OHEDI, an organisation that integrates health, technology, and inclusion to address health disparities in Nigeria and beyond. His work primarily focuses on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, infectious diseases, and migration health, supporting key populations, adolescents, women, and marginalised communities confronting stigma and barriers. Ovie’s approach is rights-based and people-centred, emphasising dignity, inclusion, and community engagement.
Currently pursuing a Master of Public Health with a focus on Health Equity, he specialises in social and epistemic justice. His initiatives underscore the significance of digital innovation in enhancing access to healthcare, education, mentorship, and psychosocial support for underserved populations.
At OHEDI, he oversees digital health projects such as confidential e-counselling, telehealth, mentorship programmes for women and adolescents, elder support services, and e-learning platforms for healthcare professionals. His experience encompasses team management, supervision of HIV programmes, and collaboration with government entities, civil society, and international agencies. Guided by principles of integrity, equity, compassion, and inclusion, Ovie is dedicated to leveraging technology to promote justice and ensure stigma-free healthcare access for all, regardless of identity or background age.

Chinwe Favour Usi serves as the Co-Founder of the Ovi Health Equity Digital Initiative (OHEDI), a non-profit organisation committed to mitigating health disparities among vulnerable populations in Nigeria through digital innovation, community engagement, and evidence-based strategies. She possesses over eight years of professional experience in social services and healthcare, having held positions such as Medical Social Worker, Child Caregiver, and Support Worker. Her expertise encompasses hospital settings, child development centres, and community-based health initiatives, including malaria prevention, immunisation programmes, tuberculosis and HIV awareness, and elderly care.
Chinwe holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, with specialised training in social systems and human behaviour, and is a Microsoft Certified Trainer. From 2022 to 2025, she facilitated digital skills and data literacy training for youth particularly girlsequipping them with the skills necessary to engage effectively with technology. Through OHEDI, she advocates for inclusive, stigma-free access to health information and supports the deployment of digital health solutions that promote equity.

Dedekuma Humphrey
Dedekuma Humphrey is a public service and development professional dedicated to promoting equity, accountability, and community-centred health initiatives. He is presently employed as a Tax Officer at the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), where he contributes to governance and accountability within the public sector. His support extends to community-based malaria campaigns, and he has served as an HIV/AIDS Advisor, advocating for stigma-free awareness, prevention, and community participation. Additionally, Dedekuma has gained international development experience through an internship with the International Labour Organization (ILO), focusing on programmes related to social protection and inclusive development. At OHEDI, he is involved in advocacy, forging partnerships, and implementing equity-driven health initiatives aimed at underserved populations.
